I originally saw this advertisement on Facebook, somebody on my feed had posted it because they found it amusing. I then clicked on it because I love Neil Patrick Harris. The commercial is advertising Heineken Light. The target market for this commercial is adults over the age of 21 that like good tasting light beer. The commercial goes to talk about how good it is by the award that it has won and how much a famous person (Neil Patrick Harris) likes to drink it. Beer companys have many different competitors, both on a global and local scale. There are tons of differnet beer options and also different alcohol options in general The marketing for beer products I could imagine would be difficult because there are so many different types.
The way the commercial is set up is to make fun of beer commercials. It makes fun of the fact that you cannot advertise someone actually drinking the beverage. It doesn't go into the regulation why but that isnt important in the commercial to get your attention. If I drank beer, this commercial would grab my attention, and the next time I was on a shopping trip I might think about buying this brand to try it out.
