We all know that every year during the Superbowl Dorititos always comes out with these great commercials. When I was deciding what type of marketing I wanted to write my second blog on I couldn't erase memories of the countless hilarious Doritios commercials I've seen over the years. This one however is one of my favorites. What I find too often in regular commercials is the same spiels over and over again, no creativity. This Ad specifically stands out to me because it makes me laugh, and laughter is a very effective marketing scheme. People make purchases based off of psychological behavior, that is why emotional advertising is also very effective. Within the humor though they make sure that the product is very specifically placed, that way you're seeing the product a majority of the screen time and not just for a quick second at the end as some commercials do. This way, you know what the commercial is for the entire time, and if someone was to only catch a few seconds of the commercial Doritios would still be running through their brain. Just like Doritios is running through my brain right now, and if I could eat them right now I would probably be running to the store to satisfy my craving. People remember things that make them sad, and things that make them happy, and if Doritios can make people happy through simple commercial advertisements then they are a product that will be remembered next time they're in the grocery store.
