Tacoma Pickle Hunt

I love the show Shark Tank, and if you haven't seen it, it's a show where entrepenuers enter a "tank" full of investors and pitch their product/business to them in hopes of gaining an investment. A couple months ago two girls from Tacoma entered the tank with their business Lynnae's Gourmet Pickles.  While they were in the tank, they talked about their current marketing, and part of that included them talking about their Pickle Hunt! They explained it as a sort of scavenger hunt with their pickles spread around Tacoma with various prizes, some amounting a great sum of money!  Their explanation of this creative/crazy idea sparked an interest for me.  It was covered locally and nationally, and the girls are striving to keep National Pickle Day alive.  What makes this interesting?  Well how many of you have run down the streets of Tacoma in search of pickle jars?!  On top of it being an unordinary marketing event, it was a huge success!  This kind of creativity is needed in the advertising world, especially something like this that actually gets the people involved! I am more than impressed with this event, and marketing technique. I can't wait to try one of Lynnae's Gourmet Pickles and see what all the "hunt"is about!

  1. You have definitely spiked my interest! I will have to check them out. What a creative concept for advertising. I can imagine it was quite a turnout! I think this type of community involvement is especially important for local offerings, you can reach a variety of demographics and I am sure many of them were referring to it on social media as well. Way to go girls!
